Our History
Husted Home Appliance Center was founded in 1961 by our father and mother Richard and Audrey Husted. Working out of our home dad would do in-home appliance repairs for local Ojai residence. In the beginning the bulk of the business was appliance repair in the customers home. Soon after dad converted our front porch into a sales floor by inclosing it with glass doors and placing a Maytag washer and dryer inside where folks could see the newest model of laundry machines available from the Maytag corporation.
As the business expanded we found we could no longer work from home so we set up shop in town with a showroom and warehouse. Our business has occupied the same location now for the past 29 years and Richard's son's Tom and Rick Husted are now serving the residence of the Ojai Valley and Ventura with the same professional and personalized service the company was built on.
